12 Muslim Countries’ FMs Condemn Israeli Airstrikes on Syria Airbase

ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st Aug, 2026) The Foreign Ministers of Türkiye, Algeria, Indonesia, Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mauritania, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Somalia strongly condemned the Israeli airstrikes targeting the Abu al-Duhur military airbase in northwestern Syria.

In a joint statement, the ministers said these attacks constitute an extreme escalation and a flagrant violation of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political unity of the Syrian Arab Republic.

They expressed deep concern over:

  • The continuous targeting and degradation of Syria’s territory and infrastructure.
  • Such actions directly risk undermining Syria’s efforts to restore security, rebuild institutions, and address humanitarian consequences of prolonged conflict.

The ministers further underlined that Israel’s continued violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity risk further escalating tensions, undermining regional peace and stability, and eroding respect for international law and the UN Charter.

They called upon the international community to:

  • Adopt a firm, clear and principled position against the aggression against Syria.
  • Take concrete steps, in accordance with international law, to bring an end to these violations.
  • Ensure full respect for the 1974 Disengagement Agreement and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied areas.

The ministers underscored the importance of:

  • Respecting Syria’s sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and political unity.
  • Rejecting any attempt to undermine them.
