1,300-Year-Old Mosque Discovered in Saudi Arabia
Saudi archaeologists have discovered a mosque more than 1,300 years old in the Al-Baha region. According to the Saudi Department of Antiquities, a historical inscription was also found on the mosque’s qibla-facing wall.
The inscription mentions Allah Almighty and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), including prayers for righteous people, blessings, and salutations upon the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Remarkably, these words have remained preserved despite the passage of centuries.
Experts highlight the discovery’s exceptional importance for understanding the region’s religious and architectural heritage during the early Islamic period.
