17-Year-Old Arrested for Seeking Ways to Kill His Father with Poison

The suspect allegedly ordered chemicals from Australia and Islamabad to make poison; after his first attempt failed, he sought further guidance from AI, an NCCIA spokesperson said.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Sep, 2026) A 17-year-old boy who allegedly sought methods from artificial intelligence to poison his father has been arrested in Bahawalpur, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) spokesperson said.
According to the NCCIA spokesperson, the suspect was arrested following intelligence received from abroad. The 17-year-old allegedly set up a laboratory at home after being inspired by the popular American crime drama series “Breaking Bad,” where he tried to prepare poison with guidance from AI.
The NCCIA spokesperson said the suspect ordered chemical materials from Australia and Islamabad and prepared poison. After his first attempt to poison his father failed, he allegedly sought further guidance from AI. The NCCIA arrested him following intelligence received from abroad. The arrest operation was carried out on the instructions of NCCIA Punjab Director Hissam bin Iqbal.
