20 Teams Continue Rainwater Drainage Operation

GUJRAT, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 22nd Aug, 2026) Drainage operations continued in the city on Saturday as 20 teams remained active across all three zones to ensure prompt disposal of rainwater.

On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gujrat Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi, Managing Director WASA Kashan Hafeez Butt supervised the ongoing drainage operation.

According to an official source, all 12 disposal stations in the city were operating at full capacity, with continuous pumping of rainwater. Besides, 15 drainage points had been activated to clear accumulated water from various areas.

Around 335 cusecs of water was being discharged from the city, while continuous pumping had significantly reduced water levels in low-lying areas, the source said.

The source added that disposal stations, field teams, and machinery were being continuously monitored to expedite the drainage process.

Deputy Managing Director WASA Khurram Butt, Director Engineering Sheikh Abdul Wahab, and other WASA officers and staff were also present in the field to monitor the operation.
