23 Martyred, 130 Injured In Kohat Suicide Attack; Operation Completed, 8 Terrorists Killed
KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 19, 2026) Security forces and police have successfully completed a major counter-terrorism operation following a suicide attack on a mosque in the Police Lines area, neutralizing all eight involved terrorists.
District Police Officer (DPO) Rai Mazhar Iqbal confirmed that the operation has concluded after all eight militants were killed during the intense operation and subsequent clearance drive. According to APP correspondent, the terror incident claimed the lives of 23 people, including 17 police personnel. Additionally, 130 individuals sustained injuries and were promptly shifted to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
Funeral prayers for two of the martyred police personnel were offered at Police Lines, while funeral services for two other police martyrs were held at the Police Club. The solemn ceremonies were attended by KP Minister for Law Aftab Alam and Commissioner Kohat division Mutasim Billah Shah, alongside senior administration officials. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Kohat Region and DPO Rai Mazhar Iqbal presented a formal salute to the fallen personnel, honoring their supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
