FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Sep, 2026) The police arrested 350 people for making bogus calls to Rescue 15 during the current year, registering 340 cases against the accused.
Police spokesman Tariq Jutt said that the police took effective action against individuals found making false and misleading calls to Rescue 15, which could disrupt the emergency response system and cause inconvenience to citizens in genuine distress.
He said that 350 accused involved in making bogus calls had been arrested so far during the current year while 340 cases had been registered against them under relevant laws.
He said that legal proceedings against the arrested accused were being pursued, adding that the police were taking strict action to discourage the misuse of emergency helpline and ensure its availability for people requiring immediate assistance.
He urged the citizens to use Rescue 15 responsibly and refrain from making false calls. Such calls not only waste police resources but could also delay response to genuine emergencies, he added.
