37 Cops Suspended Over Corruption

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza has ordered the suspension of 37 officials over alleged involvement in corruption.
According to a spokesman, the suspended officials include 11 sub-inspectors, 14 assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), six head constables and six constables. They were serving at different police stations. Strict departmental as well as legal proceedings have been initiated against them, the DIG said.
He emphasized that an effective mechanism of self-accountability is in place within the police department to ensure transparency and discipline. Zeeshan Raza also stated that the crackdown on corruption would continue, adding that the department has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards corrupt practices.
