The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) arrested 38 individuals operating an illegal call center and recovered computers, laptops, and mobile phones here on Monday.
According to an NCCIA spokesperson, the operation was conducted under the supervision of Additional Director Lahore Zone Atif Ameer following a confidential report. The investigation revealed that the suspects were operating under the name "MediConnex" as a fake medical billing service. They contacted citizens abroad, lured them through fake promotional offers, and fraudulently obtained their personal and financial information, including credit card details.
During the raid, team members seized 24 computers, seven laptops, 42 mobile phones, and three vehicles.
Further investigations were underway.
