47th Mid-Career Management Course Officers Visit LDA Headquarters

LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) A delegation of officers participating in the 47th Mid-Career Management Course at the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) visited the headquarters of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Thursday.
Usama Majid Cheema, Additional Director General (Headquarters), and Waseem Ahmed, Additional Director General (Housing), briefed the visiting officers about LDA’s work, including:
- Various development projects
- Functioning of different departments
- Ongoing IT reforms
The delegation received detailed information on master planning, urban planning, town planning, and other relevant sections. They were also updated on completed and ongoing projects in Lahore.
Officers learned that, guided by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, LDA is working towards transforming Lahore into a more livable city through sustainable development initiatives. Projects are underway around Data Darbar, Neela Gumbad, Gulberg, and Lahore Railway Station.
They were also informed about measures to improve revenue generation for the authority.
Abdul Basit, LDA Chief IT Officer, discussed the digital transformation efforts at LDA, including:
- Online building plan approvals
- Digital mapping
- The E-Biz portal
- Issuance of digital notices
The visiting officers also received updates on LDA’s work regarding illegal housing schemes, land sales, and the master plan.
