550 Mass Weddings To Be Arranged Under Dhee Rani Program
Multan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 23, 2026) The fourth phase of the Punjab government’s Dhee Rani Programme is scheduled to commence from October 3. This initiative aims to facilitate marriage for deserving couples through collective ceremonies, with a total of 550 mass marriages planned across Multan division.
According to Social Welfare sources, the registration process has begun, and the distribution of marriages will be as follows:
- 150 marriages in Multan
- 150 marriages in Khanewal
- 100 marriages in Lodhran
- 150 marriages in Vehari district
The mass marriage ceremony in Multan is tentatively scheduled for November 16. The tendering process for the event is currently underway.
Each couple will receive a marriage grant (Salami) of Rs. 200,000 through ATM cards from the provincial government. Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal, Sohail Shaukat Butt, is expected to attend as the chief guest alongside other parliamentarians.
