60 Suspects Arrested For Having Illegal Weapons
BAHAWALPUR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th Aug, 2026) The district police have arrested 60 suspects for having illegal weapons during a crackdown launched against criminal mafia during the first two weeks of August across the district.
According to an official press release issued by the district police office here, as part of the campaign against illegal weapons, Bahawalpur police registered 60 criminal cases and arrested 60 suspects for possessing illegal firearms. They recovered a wide range of weapons from the suspects including:
- Three rifles
- Seven revolvers
- Forty-four 30-bore pistols
- Two shotguns
- Four carbines
- 245 rounds of ammunition.
Meanwhile, the police spokesperson explained that the smart policing initiative aims to enhance public safety through technology, intelligence-led policing, and proactive law enforcement while ensuring criminal elements are brought to justice in accordance with the law.
