6,000kg Adulterated Gram Flour Seized In Abbottabad
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority Hazara team seized around 6,000 kilograms of substandard and adulterated gram flour (besan) during a checking operation at an entry point of Abbottabad.
The gram flour, being transported in a truck, was tested using a mobile food testing laboratory. After the initial sample failed to meet required standards, it was sent to the Provincial Food Testing Laboratory for further verification. The provincial laboratory confirmed the sample's substandard and adulterated nature, leading to the Food Safety team seizing the entire consignment and taking it into official custody.
The Food Authority assured continued inspections and enforcement operations to ensure the supply of safe and quality food to consumers, adding that no compromise would be made on food safety standards.
