The Federal Information Minister, Ataullah Tarar, stated that commenting on speculation regarding governor’s rule or an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is premature at this time. He emphasized that developments would be closely monitored.
Tarar, while speaking on ARY news, noted that as a federal minister, he must verify facts before making any statements. Therefore, commenting on speculation is inappropriate at this stage. He expressed grave concerns about the provincial government's failure to maintain law and order, suggesting sympathies with terrorists, particularly the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
He criticized Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, alleging a lack of public mobilization skills. Tarar pointed out that Afridi had sought help from Ali Amin Gandapur, indicating internal weakness. He further stated that Afridi's actions suggested he was aligning with the very people he had previously condemned.
Regarding security in Islamabad, the federal capital, Tarar highlighted the presence of international diplomatic offices and the Diplomatic Enclave, stressing the need to prevent the impression of constant vandalism. He assured that the federal government would make stringent arrangements to maintain peace and protect citizens' lives and property.
