The MQM-Pakistan chief said Sindh’s urban areas have suffered the greatest exploitation and provinces should be formed across the country based on population.
KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 12th Sep, 2026)
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that they migrated to Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan but were pushed into Bhutto’s Pakistan.
Addressing a ceremony in Karachi, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui stated that the motherland is only Pakistan, while provinces are merely administrative units and nothing more. He claimed that declaring the division of provinces as treason is the greatest treason, adding that all political parties are now echoing his voice.
He continued, saying that Sindh’s urban areas have faced the most significant exploitation. The APMSO manifesto had mentioned the province, transforming it into the voice of the entire country, he added. He emphasized that MQM’s primary demand is for provinces to be established across the nation based on population.
He declared, “Give us our province, and we will implement Article 140-A ourselves.” He noted that they were barred from introducing a resolution against Sindhudesh in the Sindh Assembly, stating that there is no need for lengthy arguments regarding provincial creation today.
Khalid Maqbool further asserted that they had migrated to Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan but were subsequently pushed into Bhutto’s Pakistan. He concluded by saying, “First conduct a census, and then honestly prepare voter lists. Karachi’s population now surpasses 20 million. A state unable to conduct a census can still perform demographic analysis.”
