ACE Arrests ASI For Taking Bribe - UrduPoint

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Sargodha arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Sadar Police Station Mianwali red-handed while allegedly receiving a bribe of Rs100,000 for influencing the investigation of a case in favour of the complainant, officials said on Thursday.
According to ACE, the accused, identified as Dost Muhammad, ASI at Sadar Police Station Mianwali, had allegedly demanded Rs100,000 for conducting the investigation in favour of the complainant.
The action was carried out by a special ACE team led by Faisal Hamid, Circle Officer Headquarters, in the presence and supervision of a magistrate. The marked Currency notes amounting to Rs100,000 were recovered from the accused during the raid.
An ACE official stated that the complainant, Atta Muhammad Khan, a resident of Balo Khel, Mianwali, had approached Regional Director ACE Sargodha Mudassar Hanif Bhatti and reported that the ASI was demanding a bribe to favour him in the investigation of a case.
The Regional Director ACE Sargodha directed Circle Officer Headquarters Faisal Hamid to conduct the raid. The officer, along with the raiding team, conducted the operation under the supervision of Magistrate Hafeezullah. The accused was arrested on the spot while allegedly accepting the marked currency.
A case was registered against him and further investigation was initiated.
