ACE Arrests Police Sub-inspector For Taking Rs50,000 Bribe
MUZAFFARGARH, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th Sep, 2026) An Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) team arrested a police sub-inspector for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a complainant here on Sunday.
According to the Anti-Corruption Establishment, Circle Officer Amar Yasir arrested police officer Muhammad Muneer red-handed while he was allegedly accepting the bribe from the citizen. The marked currency notes were also recovered from the possession of the accused on the spot.
An anti-corruption official said that it was the second such action during the first week of the current month, as another public official had also been arrested on September 1 on corruption charges. He stated that legal proceedings had been initiated against the arrested police officer. The accused would face trial for allegedly misusing his authority and pressuring the complainant to pay a bribe for resolving his case.
