Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Punjab, Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, on Saturday visited the Commissioner’s office Multan and received a detailed briefing on:
- Revenue affairs
- Development projects
- Beautification initiatives
- Punjab Chief Minister’s priority programs in Multan division.
Commissioner Multan division, Aamir Karim Khan, briefed the ACS on administrative affairs and ongoing initiatives across the division’s four districts.
ACS Iftikhar Ali Sahoo directed:
- Deputy Commissioners to personally monitor development projects, ensure quality and timely completion, and submit regular progress reports.
- Field officers to remain present in the field and actively address public grievances.
He stressed that policy-making should reflect ground realities and incorporate feedback from field officers. He also directed the Punjab Clean Water Authority to take over all water filtration plants and restore non-functional facilities, emphasizing safe drinking water as a key government priority.
Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan informed about various flagship programs:
- Suthra Punjab: 50,501 tonnes of waste collected daily with 20,480 human resources and 4,092 machinery deployed. 733 out of 937 filtration plants are functional.
- Apna Khet Apna Rozgar: Balloting completed for 677 out of 758 lots; 511 lease deeds distributed and possession handed over for 489 lots.
- Apni Chhat Apna Ghar: 10,181 applications approved out of 87,792; 3,892 houses completed and 1,540 under construction.
In the revenue sector:
- 20,753 Khatooni/Khiewat-related issues resolved
- 73,820 mutation-related issues settled
- 191,628 missing mutations retrieved
- 4,635 applications received for Green Property Certificates; 2,880 approved.
Total estimated cost:
- Punjab Development Program: Rs. 80 billion
- Open-source revenue development schemes: Rs. 6,569 million
- Beautification schemes: Rs. 1,749 million
Electric bus service: 75 of 220 buses allocated to the division received, including 45 for Multan, nine for Khanewal, 10 for Vehari, and 11 for Lodhran.
