AJK Observes Defence Day of Pakistan with Enthusiasm
AJK celebrates the 61st Defence Day of Pakistan with great zeal and fervor, reaffirming its commitment to defend every inch of the motherland. Across Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), special prayers were offered at dawn in mosques for Pakistan's stability, progress, and prosperity, as well as the success of the Kashmir freedom movement against Indian occupation.
Ceremonies were held across AJK, including major events in district headquarters like Mirpur, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Rawalakot, Palandri, Hattiyan, Haveili, Jhelum Valley, Kotli, Bhimbher, and Neelam Valley. These ceremonies honored the martyrs of the 1965 Indo-Pak war who laid down their lives to protect Pakistan's borders.
Speakers praised the valiant armed forces and ghazis who repelled India's attack during the 1965 war and achieved a decisive victory in the 5-day war last year, responding to India's unprovoked aggression.
In Mirpur, a significant ceremony was held to pay tribute to the heroes of the 1965 Indo-Pak war. High-ranking officials and citizens visited graves of martyrs across Mirpur city and its outskirts, offering prayers for their eternal rest. Floral wreaths were laid by senior police officers, civil servants, military personnel, and family members of martyrs, including Lt. Col. Mirza Imran Arshad Jiraal, Sub Inspector Adnan Farioq Qureshi, and Naib Subedar Muneer Hussain.
