All closed motorways will be reopened on Sunday morning. A Motorway Police spokesperson stated that all motorways would be opened to traffic from 6am today.

According to the spokesperson, traffic would be restored on all motorways, including:

  • M-1
  • M-14
  • E-35

Citizens would be able to travel normally on these highways after 6am today.

The closure of the M-1, M-14, E-35, and other major highways was linked to security arrangements for the protest and long march announced by the PTI in Islamabad on 27 September.

On 23 September, Islamabad Traffic Police had announced the closure of several key routes, including the M-1, M-14, Hazara Motorway, and parts of the GT Road, from 11pm until further notice. Authorities cited the law-and-order situation as the reason for the measure.
