Amin-ul-Haque urges federal funds for M-9 Motorway rehabilitation

Amin-ul-Haque Urges Federal Funds For M-9 Motorway Rehabilitation - UrduPoint

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Aug, 2026)

MQM leader Amin-ul-Haque on Tuesday called for federal funds to be allocated for the rehabilitation and development of the M-9 Motorway connecting Karachi and Hyderabad.

Speaking on a point of order in the National Assembly, he stated that Karachi and Hyderabad generate the highest amount of toll tax in the country. He expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of the M-9 Motorway despite the substantial collection of toll taxes from motorists.

According to him, the second and third lanes continuously worsen due to a lack of rehabilitation work. Amin-ul-Haque further noted that traffic accidents frequently occur on the motorway, posing serious risks to drivers. He highlighted situations where traffic flows from the opposite direction, enhancing the likelihood of accidents.

He demanded that the Federal Ministry of Communications allocate funds for the development and rehabilitation of the M-9 Motorway. This, he believed, would ensure safer and more convenient travel for people commuting between Karachi and Hyderabad, as well as interior Sindh.
