Aqeel Malik Urges PTI To Abandon Violent Protests

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Sep, 2026) Minister of State for Law and Justice, Barrister Aqeel Malik, on Tuesday recalled the economic losses suffered by the country during previous protests by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), urging the party to pursue dialogue instead of resorting to violent protests.

Speaking to a private television channel, he stated that the government had offered dialogue to the PTI several times, but the party had not responded positively. He added that PTI's politics had been centered around a single agenda, which they sought to settle on the roads.

Responding to a question about the health of PTI founder, he dismissed claims regarding his health as propaganda. He affirmed that the PTI founder's health was good and that his sister had also confirmed it.

The minister also addressed statements by some PTI leaders regarding clashes and threats, stating that the government was responsible for protecting citizens and would take necessary measures to maintain peace and public order.

He further highlighted several preventive measures taken by the government regarding the PTI-announced protests.

Situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Commenting on the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he alleged that the province's condition had deteriorated due to a lack of governance. “The people have been left helpless, with no development and other basic facilities,” he said.
