Arsenal Open to Loan Switch for Teenage Prodigy Max Dowman
BBC Sport reports that Arsenal are considering a loan move for their young star, Max Dowman, if it facilitates his development.
Last season, Dowman made history as the youngest player to score in the Premier League and for Arsenal. Despite not featuring yet this term, he scored twice in Arsenal's Carabao Cup win against Ipswich on Tuesday.
Mikel Arteta, Arsenal manager, stated that while they aim to keep Dowman involved with the senior squad, they will reassess every six months to determine what is best for his progress.
"We have to be open, but now the focus is to be here and to impact the team," said Arteta.
Dowman, who turned 16 in September, can be loaned out once he turns 17 on December 31st, coinciding with the opening of the winter transfer window.
Arteta, however, emphasizes that they haven't explored any loan possibilities yet as they want Dowman to be an integral part of the squad. He adds that success depends on factors like playing time, team needs, and Dowman's own development.
With Arsenal performing well this season, winning all seven domestic and European fixtures, Dowman's chances of a loan move may depend on his performances in future matches, particularly against Brighton on Saturday.
