ATC Hints at Jail Trial for PTI Founder in Terrorism Case
ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 03, 2026) The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad on Thursday hinted at conducting the jail trial of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) founder in a case registered against him at Barakahu Police Station.
ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra remarked that the jail trial of the PTI founder was about to commence in one case and it could possibly be initiated in the case pending before his court as well.
The court was hearing a terrorism case against the PTI founder. It had earlier written to the Ministry of Law regarding the proposed jail trial; however, no response from the ministry was received.
PTI counsel Murtaza Turi asked the judge whether the Ministry of Law had responded to the court's letter. The judge smiled and proceeded to call the next case.
The court adjourned the hearing without proceedings until October 29 due to the non-availability of the PTI founder.
