Awareness Walk Held at NSIC

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Sep, 2026) An awareness walk was held at Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology (NSIC) in Sargodha on Tuesday, in connection with World Heart Day, to promote awareness about the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
The walk was led by Dr Khurram Shehzad, Chief Executive and General Manager (retd), and Brigadier (retd) Dr Asif Chattha, Medical Superintendent and Hospital Director. Also present were Prof Dr Azhar Rashid and Prof Dr Adnan Shehzad.
The event began at the hospital and concluded at the main gate. Doctors, medical staff, and other relevant personnel participated.
Addressing the participants, Dr Khurram Shehzad and Brigadier (retd) Dr Asif Chattha emphasized the importance of:
- Adopting a balanced diet
- Regular exercise
- Maintaining a healthy lifestyle
They also stressed the need to control blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol and highlighted the significance of timely medical examinations and treatment for heart disease symptoms.
A cake cutting ceremony marked the conclusion of the event. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to continuing awareness activities to educate the public about heart disease and its preventive measures.
