Azma Rejects ‘Unnecessary Propaganda’ Over CM’s Cheque
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Sep, 2026) Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari on Thursday responded to Fawad Chaudhry over a payment made by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. She stated that "unnecessary propaganda" was being spread regarding the clearing date mentioned on the cheque.
She explained that standard banking procedure dictates that normal cheques in Pakistan are cleared the following day after deposit, adding that this is a well-established practice.
Azma Bokhari further remarked that Fawad Chaudhry, given his past associations and financial dealings, would do well to refrain from commenting on the matter.
