Backchannel Contact Between Barrister Gohar and Mohsin Naqvi Ends

Talks between Barrister Gohar and Mohsin Naqvi were ongoing when Naqvi suddenly ended contact, reportedly sending a message through an intermediary that he had been barred from speaking to PTI, according to Syed Zeeshan Aziz.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Sep, 2026) New revelations have emerged about backchannel contacts and political developments ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s proposed long march on 27th September.
According to journalist Syed Zeeshan Aziz, the secret backchannel contact between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has now ended. Talks between the two leaders had been ongoing; however, Mohsin Naqvi suddenly severed contact and, through an intermediary, sent a message to PTI’s top leadership that he had been stopped from holding further talks with the party.
Aziz further stated on a social media platform X that significant developments had also occurred regarding the health and treatment of PTI founding chairman Imran Khan. Several specialist doctors who came from abroad examined Imran Khan in jail and, after carefully reviewing his ongoing medication, made necessary corrections and improvements.
Aziz advised the government to arrange an immediate jail meeting between Imran Khan and Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the opposition leader in the National Assembly and head of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, as well as Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, the opposition leader and head of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, to reduce the political tension.
He emphasized that Imran Khan had entrusted the responsibility for the 27th September long march and protest movement to these two important political leaders. Therefore, only Imran Khan has the final authority to withdraw the protest call or change its date. If the government wishes to cancel the sit-in and long march, arranging a meeting between Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and the PTI founder in jail is essential.
