Basant Festival Preparations Reviewed At HAL Meeting
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Sep, 2026) A meeting to review administrative and cultural preparations for the proposed Basant Festival was held at Jilani Park Headquarters, here on Friday.
The meeting, chaired by Managing Director (MD) Horticulture Agency Lahore, Ahmed Usman Javed, discussed a comprehensive action plan for organizing the mega event. Additional Managing Director, Tasleem Akhtar Rao, Director Finance Ahmed Saeed Manj, Director Marketing Naeem Afzal, and Directors Javed Hamid, Shah Nawaz Wattoo and Farrukh Akhlaq, along with other senior officers, attended the meeting.
The officers gave detailed briefings on arrangements made during previous festivals and presented proposals for the upcoming event. The meeting was informed that Lahore’s major thoroughfares would be divided into different categories, with a plan prepared for their modern and internationally styled decoration.
Ahmed Usman Javed said that, in line with Chief Minister (CM) Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision, it had been decided to make Basant a historic festival. He stated that the event would present a safe, peaceful, and attractive face of Punjab’s culture while ensuring administrative and cultural arrangements planned to international standards.
