Bellamy bemoans new schedule after Denmark loss

Wales 0-1 Denmark: Craig Bellamy criticizes new four-game window

BBC Sport Wales reports on Wales' 0-1 loss to Denmark in the Nations League, with Craig Bellamy expressing disappointment over the new four-match international schedule.

Bellamy's Criticism

Bellamy suggested the new four-game international window was detrimental to Wales, saying:

"Physically, I completely agree with the ones who don't like [the new window]. It makes no sense."

He further argued that the schedule is advantageous to larger football nations and puts "a real stress" on smaller countries like Wales.

Challenges and Injuries

The coach highlighted the impact of injuries, with several key players missing the entire camp, and noted that the squad was tested by the new, longer break.

He mentioned:

"If we have a few injuries, which we had more than one or two, they miss four games... We can deal with two, do you understand? And then the squad will get really tested."

Match Recap

Despite taking a lead against Norway in their previous game, Wales struggled against Denmark, failing to create many scoring opportunities.

Bellamy added:

"On Thursday [against Norway] we were on the front foot so we're able to shorten distance. Today, we just couldn't work it well enough, couldn't get the energy up enough to be able to have a bigger say in the game."

The game ended with a 75th-minute Rasmus Hojlund penalty securing Denmark's win.
