The ECB is reportedly reluctant to issue the former England captain a No-Objection Certificate (NOC), raising the possibility that he may not receive clearance.
LONDON, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Sep, 2026) Former England cricket captain Ben Stokes will require a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the ECB to play in the Pakistan Super League.
According to British media reports, Ben Stokes is keen to play the next PSL season and has contacted PSL and MLC franchises. Media reports say Stokes will require an ECB NOC to play franchise cricket, including the PSL and other leagues.
Despite his central contract having ended, Stokes will require ECB clearance to play franchise cricket, according to media reports. Under ECB rules, players registered for domestic cricket require an NOC to play in franchise leagues. Therefore, as Stokes remains on a domestic contract, he may not receive an NOC to play franchise cricket, British media reports said.
