"Best bend I've ever run" - Hunt's Season Continues in Brussels

Amy Hunt continued her impressive late-season form with a season's best time of 22.16 seconds, just eight hundredths off her lifetime best, securing third place in the 200m at the Diamond League final in Brussels.
The Briton, champion at last month's European Championships in Birmingham, was beaten by St Lucia's Julien Alfred, the fastest woman over the distance this year, who won in 21.79, and American Kayla White (22.00).
"I'm really proud of that one," Hunt told BBC World Service. "That was probably one of the best bends I've ever done."
A third-place finish solidifies Hunt's progress through the Diamond League finals, where she finished fifth and sixth in 2025 and 2024 respectively.
She will also compete in the 100m on Saturday, alongside Olympic silver medallist Sha'Carri Richardson, and aims to double up at the Ultimate Championships in Budapest from 11 September.
Hunt's schedule is ambitious, given her training with 400m runners who have longer recovery times.
"We train over 400 metres and the longest recovery we have in winter sessions is 45 seconds," she said. "I'm out there doing the really long reps back to back."
Hunt performed best among Britons, with Matt Hudson-Smith fifth in the 400m, Jake Hayward eighth in the captivating 1500m.
Australian Cameron Myers won the 1500m, while world champion Oblique Seville took the 100m and Kenya's Emmanuel Wanyonyi won his fourth successive Diamond League title over 800m.
Armand 'Mondo' Duplantis, world record holder in pole vault, withdrew due to leg tightness, opening the door for Greek Emmanouil Karalis to win with a 6.12m clearance.
Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles announced an injury-forced early end to his season.
