Boy, 3, recovering at home after crocodile attack in Huntingdon
A three-year-old boy who was seriously injured in a crocodile enclosure has been discharged from hospital and is settling back in at home, his family has said.
The child returned home "a few weeks ago" and is described as being "happy to be home, playing with his toys, sleeping in his own bed and being a big brother", according to an update posted online by his parents.
The incident occurred on 18 June at Johnsons of Old Hurst near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, when the boy was attacked by at least one crocodile.
In a fundraising page update shared on Monday, the family expressed gratitude for support received:
"It's nice to have us all back together in the comfort of our own home."
A 30-year-old man from Norfolk was arrested and bailed on suspicion of attempted murder following the attack.
The family update continued:
"Now that we are home, our son's rehabilitation journey continues and we can focus on ensuring our son has the best possible chance at recovery. We attend the hospital frequently to find out the next steps and work on them together as a family."
They added that their son had undergone seven operations, with all immediate surgeries now complete.
The fundraising page, which has raised over £113,000, details how donations have helped cover financial costs and support the boy's recovery.
