Boy,16, arrested after four viable devices found in security alert in Omagh, County Tyrone
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested under the Terrorism Act after a security alert in Omagh, County Tyrone.
Police carried out a planned search on Monday at an address in the Gardenville Avenue. They found and removed four viable explosive devices from the property for forensic examination.
Nearby residents who had been asked to leave their homes during the alert have since returned.
Det Insp Winters urged the public not to speculate about the incident.
**"It's important to stress that, while the suspect has been arrested under the Terrorism Act, our investigation to establish a motive remains very much ongoing."
