Call for Protection of Women Rights at Workplace

BAHAWALPUR (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Sep, 2026) An awareness seminar was organized at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur on women's rights and protection of women at the workplace.
According to an official press release issued by the IUB, Provincial Ombudswoman Punjab Dr Najma Afzal Khan attended the seminar as the chief guest. Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Chairperson of the University Center for Anti-Harassment and Discrimination, and committee members, senior faculty members, university officers, and officers associated with various district departments also attended.
Dr Najma Afzal Khan, emphasizing the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif to empower women, stated that "harassment of women is a crime." She highlighted the institution's commitment to protecting women, stressing the mandatory formation of an anti-harassment committee in both government and private institutions. "A harassment committee shall be formed in every institution, consisting of three people," she said.
The participants gained insights into measures for safeguarding women at the workplace.
