CDA Cleans G-10 Reservoirs As Islamabad Focuses on Water Security
CDA has carried out routine cleaning and disinfection of water reservoirs at G-10 Water Works to maintain hygienic conditions and safeguard the quality of drinking water supplied to residents.
"CDA is committed to ensuring a reliable supply of clean drinking water to the citizens of Islamabad," the authority’s spokesperson told APP on Wednesday.
This cleaning initiative is part of the authority’s regular maintenance and disinfection measures. CDA is also taking steps to improve existing water infrastructure, strengthen distribution networks, reduce water losses, and explore sustainable water sources while promoting efficient use and conservation.
Rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge are among the long-term strategies being explored by CDA.
Residents, educational institutions, housing societies, and commercial establishments have been encouraged to:
- Conserve water
- Repair leaking taps and pipelines
- Report leakages to relevant authorities
The authority has also advised citizens against polluting water resources by disposing of solid waste, chemicals, oil, and sewage into drains, nullahs, and watercourses.
CDA will continue maintaining its water facilities and promoting responsible water use to ensure a sustainable supply for the capital.
