ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Aug, 2026) A delegation from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), led by its President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, met with Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA)/Chief Commissioner Islamabad Lt. (Retd.) Sohail Ashraf here on Monday. They discussed a range of long-standing issues affecting the business community, particularly those related to construction, real estate, investment, and ease of doing business in the Federal capital.
During the meeting, CDA Chairman assured the ICCI delegation that the issue of Floor Area Ratio (FAR) charges, a long-standing concern, would be taken up at the CDA board meeting scheduled for Tuesday. The aim is to provide maximum relief to businesses.
He also addressed other key issues:
-
Parking Space: The CDA Chairman agreed to increase the permissible parking area from 750 square feet to 1,000 square feet. However, this revision will not be retrospective for plots already allotted. The matter will be presented to the CDA Board for consideration.
-
Inheritance Transfers: The Chairman CDA promised to abolish the existing 0.25 percent fee calculated on the FBR value of property for legal inheritance transfers within the family. This proposal is subject to CDA Board approval.
-
General Power of Attorney (GPA) Transactions: He also agreed to consider abolishing the 0.25 percent fee on GPA transactions within blood relations. This move aims to reduce financial burdens on families and simplify property procedures.
