Chelsea have announced that captain Reece James has undergone successful surgery on a knee injury. The 26-year-old defender was injured in training prior to Chelsea's 5-1 win over Bournemouth last weekend, leading to the decision for him to have surgery.
James is now undergoing rehabilitation with Chelsea's medical staff, with no timeline given for his return.
Chelsea face a challenging run of fixtures ahead, including matches against Everton, Tottenham, and Manchester United, sandwiched between a trip to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.
