Chinese Delegation Visits UAF
UrduPoint (25 August, 2026) – A high-level delegation from Northwest A&F University (NWAFU), China, visited the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) on Tuesday and met with UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali. The visit focused on collaboration in various fields, including:
- Animal and agriculture biotechnology
- Genomics
- Crop improvement
- Food security
Spokesperson for UAF noted that the delegation included key figures from NWAFU, such as Prof. Dr. Jiang Zhongliang, Prof. Dr. Jiang Yu (Dean of the College of Animal Science & Technology), Qinwei (International Cooperation College), and Vernon Kin (DBN Group, China).
During their meeting, they discussed "Pak-China Cooperation in Animal and Agricultural Biotechnology" under the auspices of the Center for Advanced Studies in Agriculture and Food Security at UAF. Key areas of interest are:
- Animal genomics and reproductive biotechnology
- Crop improvement
- Food security innovations
- Academic exchanges
- Capacity-building initiatives
Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, Vice Chancellor of UAF, emphasized the importance of partnering with leading Chinese institutions like NWAFU to advance research, capacity building, and technology transfer. He highlighted the need for integrating genomics and reproductive biotechnology in livestock and crop sectors to meet Pakistan’s agricultural demands.
Prof. Dr. Jiang Yu expressed NWAFU’s commitment to facilitating joint research and knowledge exchange programs, while Prof. Dr. Jiang Zhongliang viewed UAF as a crucial partner in academic and research cooperation.
The delegation’s visit aims to identify new areas of collaboration between the two universities.
