Chiniot Police Arrest 17 Suspects in Crackdown on Criminal Elements
Chiniot Police arrested 17 suspects during the last 24 hours as part of an intensified crackdown against criminal elements and violators of law in the district, police said on Monday.
According to police, two proclaimed offenders were arrested during the operation, while three suspected drug dealers were also taken into custody. More than 1.5 kilograms of hashish and liquor were recovered from the possession of the arrested drug suspects.
Police stated that 12 other suspects were arrested for various violations, including illegal gas refilling, reckless driving, electricity theft, and violations of the Beggar Act.
The action was taken as part of efforts to maintain law and order and curb unlawful activities.
During checking through the Police Post App, police teams verified 201 suspicious persons and inspected 268 suspicious vehicles. More than 200 vehicles were challaned for violating traffic rules, with fines exceeding Rs400,000 imposed on the violators.
