City Receives Heavy Rain

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Sep, 2026) Heavy rain was received in the provincial capital on Friday.

According to rainfall data, released by the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Lahore, different areas of the city experienced varying amounts of rain, with Johar Town recording the highest rainfall of 100.2 millimetres.

Gulshan-e-Ravi received 46.2mm rain, followed by Samanabad with 42.8mm. 40.8mm of rainfall was recorded in Garden Town’s Ali Block, while 40mm was recorded at the Nishtar Town Director Office.

Other areas also witnessed significant rainfall. Kahna recorded 32.8mm, Farrukhabad 31.2mm, Jubilee Town 30.4mm, Upper Mall 26mm, Jail Road 25mm, Hadiara Defence Road 23.6mm, and Nishtar Town Disposal 23.4mm.

Relatively lower rainfall was recorded in Shadipura (7.2mm), Thokar Niaz Baig (6.2mm), Manawan (4mm), and Lahore Airport (3mm).

Following the rain, WASA Lahore remained active to ensure the timely disposal of accumulated rainwater from roads and low-lying areas. Managing Director WASA Lahore, Ghaffran Ahmad, continuously monitored the drainage operation.

The rainfall provided considerable relief from the prevailing hot and humid weather conditions, making the atmosphere pleasant for citizens across Lahore.
