Civil Defence Punjab Takes Disciplinary Action Against 49 Officers

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Sep, 2026) The Civil Defence Punjab department has taken disciplinary action against 12 officers and personnel, suspending 37 others and transferring seven Civil Defence Officers on charges of alleged corruption, negligence, and incompetence, on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab.

According to a statement issued by the Director Civil Defence Punjab, the action was taken as part of the department’s internal accountability process.

Those removed from service include:

  • Farmanullah of Sargodha
  • Naveed of Khushab
  • Muhammad Irshad and Nasir Iqbal of Multan
  • Asghar of Lodhran
  • Group Wardens Rehman Maqbool and Hamza Bilal Butt of Gujranwala
  • Amanullah and Faizan of Hafizabad
  • Sharif of Narowal
  • Bashir Ahmed and Shabbir Ahmed of Bahawalpur.

Among those suspended over allegations of corruption and incompetence are:

  • Civil Defence Officer Rahim Yar Khan Shakib Ahmed
  • Assistants Sardar Ali, Sanaullah, Muhammad Kamran, and Shah Nawaz of Vehari, Sialkot, Khushab, and Sahiwal, respectively
  • Senior clerks Muhammad Altaf of Narowal and Muhammad Qasim** of Gujranwala

Additionally, nine chief instructors and 15 instructors of Civil Defence from various districts have also been suspended. Rescue Leader Muhammad Aslam, rescuer Nasir Mehmood, first aider Qamar Altaf, driver Ashfaq Ahmed, deputy messenger Muhammad Waris, and sentry worker Sohail Masih are also among those suspended.

The Director Civil Defence Punjab has initiated proceedings against the concerned officers and personnel under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act and issued suspension orders. The suspended employees have been directed to report to the Civil Defence Punjab headquarters.

Separately, seven Civil Defence Officers have been transferred on administrative grounds and following prolonged postings:

  • Syeda Seharish Irshad posted as Civil Defence Officer, Vehari
  • Muhammad Rehan as Civil Defence Officer, Bahawalnagar
  • Muhammad Abbas as Civil Defence Officer, Sahiwal
  • Muhammad Adnan Qaiser as Civil Defence Officer, Okara
  • Muhammad Iqbal Javed as Civil Defence Officer, Faisalabad

Civil Defence Officer, Civil Secretariat Lahore, Sidra Yasin Rana, has been posted as Chief Staff Officer at the Directorate of Civil Defence Punjab, while Civil Defence Officer Sialkot Farhana Aziz has been posted as Civil Defence Officer, Civil Secretariat Lahore.

The department described the action as part of its accountability process aimed at improving discipline, efficiency, and performance within Civil Defence Punjab.
