Clashes erupt between police and protesters in Paris
[Video: 00:01:00]
Police fired tear gas and clashed with protesters on the outskirts of Paris during a third weekend of nationwide demonstrations against the rising cost of living and poor public services.
Over 320,000 people took to the streets across the country, with at least 290 protesters arrested, according to France's interior ministry. Police estimated around 70,000 participated in the demonstration in Paris.
Authorities stepped up preparations to prevent a repeat of the violence, rioting, and looting that occurred two weeks prior.
