CM Arrives In China For Four-day Official Visit
UrduPoint (25 August, 2026) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif arrived in China on Tuesday for a four-day official visit. She was welcomed by senior Chinese officials and diplomatic representatives at Urumqi International Airport.
According to a press release, upon her arrival, the CM received a warm welcome at Kunlun Hall of the Conference Centre at the Xinjiang State Guest House where she held high-level meetings with Chinese officials.
Meetings and Engagement:
- She met with Chen Xiaojiang, Secretary of the Communist Party of China in Xinjiang, and He Zhongyou, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee.
- The CM also interacted with a delegation from the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC).
A dinner was hosted in her honour by He Zhongyou, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar.
