CM Orders Timely Completion of Gujranwala, Faisalabad Mass Transit Projects
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has set March 2027 as the deadline for the completion of the Gujranwala Yellow Line Mass Transit Project, directing authorities to ensure the timeline is met at all costs.
During a special meeting held on Monday, the chief minister reviewed progress on the Gujranwala Yellow Line and Faisalabad Mass Transit projects, ordering measures to accelerate construction, including working in three shifts where required. She also examined drone footage of the ongoing work on both projects.
CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized the government's awareness of the difficulties citizens face due to development projects, stressing the essential nature of their timely completion. She declared:
“The project timelines must not be extended under any circumstances. Work should be completed at the earliest so that citizens do not face further inconvenience.”

Gujranwala Yellow Line: 31.5-kilometer route with 25 stations, including two underground stations. Includes 12 underpasses, 35 kilometers of service roads, and signal-free U-turns.

Gujranwala Mass Transit Project: 40% of 31.5-kilometer drainage system completed.

Faisalabad Mass Transit System: 11.1 kilometers of the 20.3-kilometer route will be elevated bridges. 1,835 trees replanted, 15 kilometers of Sui gas pipeline to be relocated, and 12 bus stops to be constructed.
The CM directed the relevant departments to utilize all available resources to ensure both projects are completed within the approved timelines.
