CM Sarfraz Bugti Reaffirms Zero-tolerance Policy Against Narcotics; Rs133 Billion Worth Of Drugs Seized In Two Years

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has stated that the provincial government is upholding a stringent zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, with the protection of youth from drug addiction as its core objective.
According to a social media post by Bugti, law enforcement agencies in Balochistan have, over the past two years, seized and destroyed narcotics valued at over Rs. 133 billion. He described this achievement as proof of the government's unwavering commitment and the effective performance of security institutions in combating drug trafficking.
Bugti elaborated on the seizures:
- 1,638 kilograms of crystal meth (ice) and 620 kilograms of hashish were confiscated and destroyed.
- Over 27,000 bottles and cans of foreign liquor and beer were seized and disposed of across the province during this period.
He emphasized that the anti-narcotics drive is a multifaceted initiative aimed at safeguarding the future of young people. The government, he noted, is dedicated to strengthening anti-narcotics measures while also addressing the societal impacts of drug abuse.
The Chief Minister directed for operations against narcotics to be intensified and better coordinated, ensuring relentless action against drug trafficking, sale, and consumption. He reiterated that achieving a drug-free Balochistan is among the government's top priorities, and strict legal action will continue against those involved in the illicit trade.
Bugti further expressed the government's determination to establish a safe, healthy, and drug-free society where youth can channel their energies into education, skills development, sports, and positive activities. "The future of our young generation will be protected at all costs," he vowed.
