CM Takes Notice Of Civic, Hospital Issues Following Surprise Inspections In Districts
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Sunday took strict notice of public complaints regarding civic facilities and hospital services following a report submitted by the Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT) after its surprise late-night visits to Okara, Depalpur, and Chichawatni.
According to an official handout issued here, the inspection team conducted surprise visits to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Okara, Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Depalpur, and THQ Hospital Chichawatni to evaluate healthcare facilities and service delivery.
During the inspection at THQ Hospital Chichawatni, the CMIT detected overcharging in the parking area, leading to immediate orders for the cancellation of the parking contract and the registration of a case against those responsible.
The team further reported non-functional streetlights and the accumulation of rainwater at various locations across Okara district, prompting the Chief Minister to express serious displeasure over the negligence.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif sought an immediate explanation from Deputy Commissioner Okara and directed authorities to take prompt corrective measures to resolve all civic issues. She also ordered the immediate start of repair work on the dilapidated Depalpur Road to facilitate commuters.
Reiterating her government's commitment to public welfare, the Chief Minister emphasized that basic amenities and uninterrupted public services must be ensured, directing relevant departments to remain vigilant and address public grievances without delay.
