COAS SyedAsim Munir, Mohsin Naqvi Conclude Day-long Iran Visit Amid Efforts For Regional Peace

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, along with Minister for Interior Mr Mohsin Naqvi, concluded a day-long visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran. This visit was part of Pakistan's diplomatic efforts to resolve the ongoing US-Iran conflict and foster regional peace.

They met with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, Representative of the Supreme Leader on the Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei, Speaker of the Parliament of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.

The discussions focused on:

  • Preventing further escalation
  • Reopening the Strait of Hormuz
  • Terminating the conflict through negotiation
  • Achieving regional peace and a negotiated settlement to disputes

The Iranian leadership expressed appreciation for Pakistan's constructive role and efforts towards dialogue, de-escalation, and a peaceful resolution.

Upon arrival, Field Marshal Munir was welcomed by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and other senior officials.
