Commissioner Inaugurates Chishtian Bazaar Upgradation Project

BAHAWALPUR (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News) - A project for the improvement and beautification of Chishtian Bazaar was inaugurated on Friday as part of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s people-friendly vision aimed at providing citizens with better, organized, and quality civic facilities.
Commissioner Bahawalpur Division, Irfan Kathia, performed the inauguration.
National Assembly Member Ehsan-ul-Haq Bajwa, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bahawalpur Division Ghazi Salahuddin, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bahawalnagar Syed Muhammad Abbas Shah, District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Imran, Assistant Commissioner Chishtian, and other relevant officers were present.
During the ceremony, officials briefed Commissioner Kathia on the bazaar improvement project, ongoing and planned development works, and the facilities being provided to citizens.
After reviewing the project’s progress, Commissioner Irfan Kathia instructed the concerned departments to:
- Focus on the bazaar's improvement and beautification.
- Maintain cleanliness.
- Implement effective traffic management.
- Address other administrative matters.
He emphasized that these efforts aligned with Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif's vision to facilitate the public, improve markets, and enhance urban beauty. He mentioned the establishment of Sahulat Bazaars at the tehsil level and measures to ensure affordable access to quality essential commodities as part of the Punjab government’s people-friendly policies.
Commissioner Kathia stressed that development projects aim to provide better civic facilities to citizens. He directed relevant departments to:
- Ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain high-quality standards.
- Emphasize cleanliness and basic facility improvements in the bazaar.
DC Bahawalnagar Syed Muhammad Abbas Shah highlighted the collaborative efforts of all relevant departments to improve district-wide civic facilities and ensure effective implementation of government development initiatives. He described the Chishtian Bazaar improvement project as a significant step toward providing citizens and traders with an enhanced environment and improved amenities.
