Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi Visits District Keamari to Supervise Anti-Polio Drive
Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi on Friday visited district Keamari to review the ongoing week-long anti-polio drive. He emphasized the importance of ensuring every child in the metropolis receives a polio vaccination, regardless of their travel status.
The 7-day anti-polio campaign, set to conclude on December 22, is being conducted across Karachi and the rest of the country. Accompanied by Coordinator Commissioner Police Task Force Saud Yaqoob, Deputy Commissioner Keamari, Assistant Commissioner, and a vaccination supervisor, Naqvi visited various locations in Keamari district to oversee the campaign’s progress.
He also made a special visit to UC-5 area in Keamari, where a polio case was reported this month. Three-year-old Muhammad Noor is the affected child. The commissioner instructed Deputy Commissioner to prioritize anti-polio efforts in Machhar Colony (UC-5), considering it a sensitive area.
Furthermore, Naqvi directed all deputy commissioners to implement special arrangements for monitoring children entering or leaving the city and ensure every child receives polio drops during their travel. This follows his previous review at the Inter-City Bus Terminal on Thursday, where he urged all deputy commissioners to take necessary measures for effective polio vaccination.
