Commissioner Reviews Progress On Maryam Nawaz Sharif Medical College
SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - September 5, 2026) Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali chaired a meeting on Saturday to review administrative matters, operationalization timelines, and the activation of District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital Mianwali as an attached teaching hospital for Maryam Nawaz Sharif Medical College Mianwali.
The meeting was attended by:
- The Special Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education
- The Special Secretary Health and Population Department
- Deputy Commissioner Mianwali
- Project Director, Principal Maryam Nawaz Sharif Medical College
- Chief Executive Officer District Health Authority Mianwali
Participants were informed:
- DHQ Hospital Mianwali had been formally attached to the medical college for practical clinical training.
- Appointments for the Principal and Project Director had been implemented, and the schedule of New Expenditure (SNE) comprising 260 posts received approval.
The meeting reviewed:
- The recruitment process for sanctioned posts.
- Provision of faculty and administrative personnel.
- Infrastructure requirements.
- Teaching arrangements at the hospital.
Attendees noted that an Administration Committee had been constituted to oversee college and hospital affairs until a regular board of Management becomes operational.
Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali directed officials to expedite pending tasks within stipulated timelines, ensuring quality medical education for local youth and improved healthcare services for the region. He emphasized no unnecessary delay would be tolerated in making the provincial government's project fully functional.
