The Prime Minister's Adviser on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has stated that while the option of governor's rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) exists constitutionally and legally, no final decision has been made. He noted that the KP government meets all conditions for such a move.

Speaking on Geo News' "Jirga" program, Sanaullah discussed the concept of a "decisive phase," referring to actions after November 26, 2024, and the potential implications for political opposition. He urged them to engage in political struggles through legal means or prepare for revolution but emphasized that such preparations could not be solely rhetoric.

Sanaullah clarified that any attempt to attack Islamabad would face immediate stoppage, regardless of the perpetrator's position. He reiterated that governor's rule is a legitimate option, but no decision has been finalized.

The adviser highlighted the unconstitutionality of the KP government's actions, particularly regarding amendments to the Police Act. According to him, provincial governments cannot challenge federal authority, as mandated by the Constitution and law.

Key Points:

  • Governor's rule is a constitutional option in KP but not yet finalized.
  • The KP government satisfies the conditions for governor's rule.
  • Opposition is urged to engage in political struggles or prepare for revolution through legal means.
  • Any attack on Islamabad will be stopped, and those involved will face consequences.
  • Amending the Police Act by the KP government is considered unconstitutional.
